More than ten fans arrested for the incidents after Málaga CF – Ibiza

The National Police has arrested 13 radical fans for their alleged involvement in the crimes of public disorder, damage and attack on law enforcement officers, in relation to the altercations that occurred at the end of the Málaga-Ibiza match on the last day of the Smartbank League. The suspects would be behind the barricades on May 27, next to the La Rosaleda stadium, where the the overturning of garbage containers and the burning of one of them, among other incidents.

At the end of the match, which ended in a draw and closed a disastrous season for Málaga CFa tide of radicals was concentrated outside the stadium, next to the Fondo stands, waiting for the departure of the players and the club’s board, in order to reproach them for the relegation of the team.

The ultras followers intended to cut the only way out by road, from the indoor parking lot of the stadium to Avenida de La Palmilla, and thus prevent the team from leaving. In this context, the ultras formed a barricade, overturning containers and setting fire to one of them.

They also perpetrated the overturning of a local police motorcycle and the throwing of stones and fences against members of the Police Intervention Unit -UIP- of the National Policewho fired shots into the air to dissuade the crowd, frustrating the plans of the rioters, without charging against them at any time.

The altercations at the end of the Málaga-Ibiza match, which ended around 8:15 p.m., They delayed the departure of players and club management until 10:00 p.m. -about an hour more than the usual time used in an encounter without incident-. After the whistle of the referee, radical fans located in the Animation Stand they did not leave the stands and, at least for half an hour, they were inciting the field invasion with repeated chants addressed to the masses.

Before the game, from 5:30 p.m., and previously arranged, radical groups gathered at gate eight of the stadium through which club managers and authorities enter, beginning to rebuke players and managers with different chants.

Identified and arrested

Agents from the Provincial Information Brigade in Malaga took over the investigation of the incidents. After the pertinent investigations, The agents managed to identify those responsible, 13 people, members of the Animation Grada, who have been arrested.
