Miguel Calero will be honored with a statue at Estadio Hidalgo

In the midst of the celebrations for the international day of the goalkeeper, the Tuzos del Pachuca announced a new tribute to Miguel Calero, historical goalkeeper of the institution.

At a press conference, Armando Martínez announced that they will place a statue of Miguel Calero in the Hidalgo Stadium.

“Miguel (Calero) will always be in the hearts of all of us, he has never left and now he will be immortalized in the stadium so that he is close to everyone, it is an initiative of the fans and we listen to the fans and Miguel is not only a referent of the team also of the city”, he affirmed.

The statue will be placed at the head of the Hidalgo stadium and it is expected that it will be unveiled on December 4, 2022, 10 years after the death of the Colombian.

“It will be in a different way, with the participation of people with a committee of players who watch over a bank account, it will be in life-size bronze with an unforgettable stamp when he lifted the South American Cup in Chile,” he said.

Miguel Calero was a symbol of the Tuzos by lifting the league titles in the Verano 2001, Apertura 2003, Clausura 2006 and Clausura 2007, as well as the Concachampions in 2002, 2007, 2008 and 2010.

In addition, he was part of the maximum conquest of the Tuzos, the Copa Sudamericana in 2006.
