Mexico is proclaimed double champion of the Central American and Caribbean Games 2023

Mexico completely swept the Central American and Caribbean Games San Salvador 2023 and it was proclaimed as two-time champion of the joust by repeating as the country that won the most medals.

The aztec delegation achieved a total of 353 medals (145 gold, 108 silver and 100 bronze), surpassing the 341 achieved in Barranquilla 2018.

In this way, the 646 tricolor athletes who participated in 53 different disciplines made San Salvador 2023 the fair in which Mexico won the most medals in history, since Barranquilla 2018 had the most medals for the country.

In the midst of the controversy that exists in national sports due to the lack of support in different disciplines due to the lack of support from Conade, Mexico managed to be the protagonist and achieved the most memorable participation in its history.

Swimming was the discipline that contributed the most medals with a total of 45, 17 golds, 17 silvers and 11 bronzes; followed by athletics, which contributed 23 medals: 7 golds, 11 silvers and 5 bronzes.

In addition to these disciplines, the Aztec delegation confirmed itself as the best in the area in artistic swimming, where it won 9 medals, as well as in artistic gymnastics and cycling.

In addition, the tricolor delegation hung several historical medals, such as the gold medals in baseball and men’s and women’s soccer.
