It’s official. Luis García Plaza has ceased to be a coach of the Royal Majorca. The club has made it official through a cold statement that it has published through its website: “Luis García Plaza is no longer coach of RCD Mallorca. The club wishes him the best of luck and thanks to him for all his work made to this day. Luis García Plaza was the coach for promotion to the First Division last season, achieving 82 points, a record figure in the club’s history”.
This way, the idyll of the Madrid coach with the vermilion team ends. Luis García landed on the island on August 6, 2020, and from the beginning, he established a close relationship with the fans. The results, with the team in Second, accompanied and, almost without disheveled, managed to return the team to the highest category of Spanish football.
This season, already in the First Division, the coach has managed to keep the team away from the relegation places throughout the championship, but this past weekend, after six straight losses, Mallorca got, for the first time, in the penultimate position of the table.
