The Minister of Agriculture, Limber Cruz, swore in the new president of the National Cattlemen’s Board, José Manuel Mallen Santos, and his cabinet, which was elected last Friday in the elections held in Ciudad Ganadera.
After taking the oath, the head of the agricultural portfolio said that these new members must work for the growth of Dominican livestock. He also added that on December 6, 2022, the export of meat to the United States will begin, after 28 years without doing so.
In the swearing-in ceremony, which took place at the headquarters of the agricultural institution, and in the presence of members of the Agricultural Cabinet, the president-elect affirmed that he will work together with the Ministry of Agriculture to continue guaranteeing the food security of the Dominicans and the profitability of livestock producers.
The National Board of Livestock Farmers is made up of breeders, producers of bovine animals, meat, milk, horses, poultry, ranchers and technical professionals in the livestock branch, and the Livestock Director, as an ex-officio member.
