Liger’s opening weekend collection better than Shamshera, Laal Singh Chadha lags behind

Drought is continuing at the theaters’ box office and Vijay Deverakonda’s film ‘Liger’ is also not able to improve anything in this condition. ‘Liger’, which was released in theaters on Thursday, got a lot of negative reviews and the response of the public coming out of theaters after seeing the film was also very cold.

As a result, ‘Liger’, which released with a lot of noise, is disappointing the experts watching the maths of the box office (Liger Opening Weekend Collection) from day one. Seeing the speed with which ‘Liger’, which collected only 15.95 crores on the first day, is earning at the box office, it seems almost certain that it is going to be a huge flop project.

‘Liger’, which released in theaters on August 25, is still struggling to cross the 50 crore mark at the box office even after 4 days. In such a situation, Vijay Deverakonda’s film has started being counted in the list of films that disappointed the fans a lot at the box office this year. Earlier, Aamir Khan’s ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ and Akshay Kumar’s ‘Raksha Bandhan’ also failed to give strong business to theatres. At the same time, Ranbir Kapoor’s passion project ‘Shamshera’ was also very cold at the box office. Let us tell how much big films released in the last few days earned in the first weekend:

1. Lal Singh Chaddha

Lal Singh Chaddha

Aamir Khan returned to the big screen after 4 years with the Indian adaptation of the Oscar winning film ‘Forrest Gump’. There was a trend of boycott on social media regarding the film, and there was a protest. But the noise of this Boycott would have found peace if Aamir’s film got a very good box office collection. But this did not happen and the film, which did a business of Rs 11.70 crore on the first day, collected only Rs 37.96 crore in the first week. Such a low collection was shocking for the film to be released in more than 3500 screens.

2. Liger

When Vijay Deverakonda’s film ‘Liger’ collected Rs 15.95 crore on the first day, it was understood that how difficult the film’s journey is going to be. According to reports, the film’s earnings, which were released on about 3450 screens, did not increase much in the next three days. In its first weekend, ‘Liger’ was able to collect only 36.10 crores.

3. Shamshera

shamshera

Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Shamshera’ has been placed in the list of Bollywood’s tremendous flop films. The reason for this is that ‘Shamshera’ was one of the biggest films released after the Kovid 19 epidemic. Yash Raj Films released Ranbir, Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor’s film on about 4350 screens. But this film, which took only 10.25 crores opening, could earn only 31.75 crores in the first weekend.

4. Raksha Bandhan

Raksha Bandhan

Akshay Kumar’s ‘Raksha Bandhan’ also released on August 11 to compete with Aamir Khan’s ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’. Released on more than 3000 screens, this film also earned less than expected. ‘Raksha Bandhan’, which had an opening of Rs 8.20 crores, was able to collect only 28.16 crores at the box office in the first weekend.

5. Ek Villain

Ek Villain Returns

Between ‘Shamshera’ and ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’, a Bollywood multistarrer film played bets at the box office. Aamir Khan, John Abraham, Disha Patani and Tara Sutaria starrer ‘Ek Villain Returns’ was seen by people like a dark horse. A sequel to a hit like ‘Ek Villain’, big names in the cast and an action-masala formula, box office pundits thought it might do something amazing. But ‘Ek Villain Returns’, which opened 7 crores, could only do business of 23.54 crores in the first weekend.

Made in Telugu and Hindi, Liger was also released in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada with dubbing. After the flops of ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ and ‘Raksha Bandhan’, due to being a pan India film, people’s expectations were on ‘Liger’. But its earning speed is telling that it is not enough just to be pan-India, it is very important to bring a strong story to the audience. Now fans and box office pundits are eagerly waiting to see which film will end the box office drought.
