Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics stated that they have decided to lower the level of diplomatic relations with Russia due to their attacks on Ukraine.
Rinkevics, in a post on his Twitter account, described Russia’s attacks on Ukraine as “brutal”.
Stating that Latvia will act in solidarity with Estonia, Rinkevics said, “Latvia will lower the level of diplomatic relations with Russia as of February 24 and demand that Russia act accordingly.” used the phrase.
After Estonia’s decision to reduce the number of employees at the Russian Embassy in Tallinn, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs asked the Estonian Ambassador to Moscow, Margus Laidre, to leave the country.
In the statement, it was stated that this decision was an “unfriendly” step and it was recorded that Laidre was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
