Last Minute: NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg: President Erdogan will take the decision to the Parliament for the approval of Sweden’s membership

A critical meeting was held at the NATO Heads of State and Government Summit held in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson met at the trilateral summit. The main agenda item of the meeting was Sweden’s NATO membership.

In the meeting between Turkey, Sweden and NATO, it was reported that Turkey will send Sweden’s NATO Accession Protocols to the Parliament and will be in close cooperation for its approval. After the meeting, NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg, who was in front of the cameras, stated that an agreement was reached with Turkey on Sweden’s NATO membership.
