While it was being discussed who will support Sinan Oğan, who became a key figure after running for the second round in the 14 May elections, he chose the Justice Party, one of the components of the ATA Alliance.
JUSTICE PARTY WILL SUPPORT KILIÇDAROĞLU
Justice Party Chairman Dr. Vecdet Öz, in his statement on social media, announced that they will support Kılıçdaroğlu in the second round elections to be held on 28 May.
My dear friends, who have given their hearts to the Ata Alliance, you are intelligent and independent sons of the country who have adopted Turkish nationalism along the line of Atatürk. It is not for anyone to determine the direction for you. We made a principled policy and you supported us. I am grateful to you. This support was limited to 5% and unfortunately we could not reach our goal. But together we put forward a national will.
“Staying Neutral IS SUPPORTING THE GOVERNMENT”
It should not be forgotten that our country is going through a historical process. First of all, it is essential that we get rid of the current government. Even if the way to do this does not fit our ideals, it is an ally that can act together under control. Because staying neutral means giving indirect support to the current government. This is my personal opinion.
“WE MADE THE DECISION TO ANNOUNCE OUR DECISION”
We, members of the Justice Party, take decisions in this manner not individually, but together with the General Administrative Board of 50 people. Our decision made at the GIK meeting held today came out as I thought with full participation, and as the chairman, I have to implement it. Of course, this decision does not bind you, and we cannot think of dominating any of our voters. In our meeting with our alliance components, we decided to implement and announce the GCC decisions of our parties.
“WE WILL SUPPORT KILIÇDAROĞLU”
The decision of the GİK of the Justice Party was to support Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu without any other expectation by guaranteeing the conditions we determined together with our alliance partners in writing, and not to leave those who set their hearts on us in any longer delay. Our official decision will be announced during the visit of Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu to our headquarters on Monday. Good luck to our nation.”
