Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu’s defeat once again in the presidential election held on 28 May tightened the ropes in the Nation Alliance. Despite Akşener’s objection, Kılıçdaroğlu’s candidacy and loss of the election created the agenda; now eyes are turned to the local elections to be held in 2024.
THERE IS A METROPOLITAN CONDITION
While the fate of the Nation Alliance is uncertain and there is no statement yet on whether they will cooperate in the local elections; IYI Party Group Deputy Chairman Erhan Usta made evaluations on Halk TV. Usta said that in the local elections, cooperation with the CHP can be made on the condition that some metropolitan municipalities are left to the IYI Party.

Stating that the IYI Party did not demand any metropolitan municipality in the previous elections, Usta said, “This was a cooperation made just to change the current political climate. But when the political parties come together, it is impossible to expect sacrifices from one side. It should not happen.”
On the other hand, Kılıçdaroğlu, who gave DEVA, Future and Felicity Party a chance to put a deputy from the CHP lists; It is said in the backstage that a metropolitan city may be given to the IYI Party.
