Alexis Sanchez returned to Inter Milan after leaving Marseille as a free agent. A club source confirmed this information at Siri.
In a statement, Inter said Sanchez has a contract with the Serie A club until June 2024. The contract amount is about 2.8 million euros.
The two-time Copa America-winning Chilean striker, considered one of Chile’s greatest ever footballers, scored 18 goals for Marseille last season. After leaving Inter, he played in France for a year. Sanchez, 34, was part of Inter’s Serie A winning side in 2021.
He terminated his contract with Inter last summer by mutual consent. He returned to Inter in a different striking line-up. Edin Dzeko and Romelu Lukaku have left Inter. Joaquin Correa’s move to Marseille on loan is nearing completion. Sanchez will now have to compete with Marcos Thuram, Marko Ornatovit and World Cup winner Lotaro Martinez for a place in Inter’s first team.
Inter will travel to Cagliari to play the second match of the league tomorrow.
