Why is there no place for Dhawan in the T20 team?
Shikhar Dhawan, who is going to turn 37 on December 5, has once again told through this brilliant inning that ignoring him can cost the Indian team a lot. Dhawan is getting chances in ODI cricket, but in T20 cricket, he is not getting chances at all, while players like KL Rahul are getting chances continuously. The special thing is that despite showing a great game in a big tournament like IPL, Dhawan did not get a place in the T20 World Cup for the second consecutive year. Dhawan played his last T20 International match against Sri Lanka in July 2021.
Pant-Rohit-KL performance nothing special
If seen, Indian team management is continuously using KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant as opener in T20 cricket. But both are not able to do anything special. Everyone had seen the condition of the Indian openers in the T20 World Cup. Captain Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul were complete flops in T20 World Cup 2022.

KL Rahul scored a total of 128 runs in 6 matches at an average of 21.33 in the T20 World Cup season. During this, he made only two fifties and both these fifties came against Bangladesh (50) and Zimbabwe (51). Captain Rohit Sharma’s performance was also nothing special. Overall, Rohit Sharma scored 116 runs in the T20 World Cup 2022 at an average of 19.33 in six matches.
Now let’s talk about T20 series against New Zealand. Rishabh Pant was tried as an opener in this series but he proved to be a complete failure. Pant could not even touch the figure of 20 runs in two innings. Overall, Shikhar Dhawan can still solve the problem of opening for the Indian team in T20 cricket.
