IND vs NZ 1st ODI: Bracewell’s stormy innings after Shubman Gill’s double century … India barely won against New Zealand

India defeated New Zealand by 12 runs in the match played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Chasing the target of 350 runs in this ODI, the New Zealand team was reduced to 337 runs in 49.2 overs. With this victory, India took a 1-0 lead in the ODI series. The heroes of Team India’s victory were Shubman Gill and Mohammad Siraj. Shubman Gill played an unmatched inning of 208 runs, while fast bowler Siraj took four wickets. The second match of the series will be played on January 21 in Raipur.

If seen, the first ODI match was full of ups and downs and at one time the Indian team was in a lot of trouble. Two Kiwi batsmen Michael Bracewell and Mitchell Santner created problems for India. Eight wickets had fallen but Michael Bracewell’s stormy batting continued and he was hitting sixes and fours from one end. The result was that the match reached the last over.

That last over of Shardul Thakur…

Bracewell hit a six on the first ball of the last over. Then the next ball was wide, due to which 13 had to be made in four balls. The match could have gone anywhere from here but Shardul gave India the win by getting Bracewell out LBW on an excellent yorker.
