The film ‘Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh’ is going to release this week. Let us tell you that after a long time, Raj Kumar Santoshi is going to return in the direction. Most of the starcast of this film are new faces. Sandeep Bhojak is going to be seen in the role of a jailer in this film. Sandeep shares with us not only his character but also the story of his interesting journey.
Talking about the preparation of his character in the film, Sandeep says, I have an important character in the film. I have become a jailer in this. Apart from this, I was also assisting Rajkumar Santoshi sir in this film. For this character, I had put on twenty kilos in a month. If an outsider actor is getting a chance to work with Raj Kumar Santoshi ji, then what can be a bigger achievement than this. In such a situation, gaining weight was not a big deal.
Reduced 20 kg weight in one and a half months for the role
The funny thing is that I am also working in one of Raj sir’s next films. I have to look like a college student in this film, so whatever the shooting was to start soon, then what was it, I gave up food and drink and started gymming for three to four hours a day. In about a month and a half, I had reduced 20 kg from my body again.
Sandeep tells about his career, my journey has been very different. I am from Bikaner and there are parents, wife and a daughter in my family. I have been passionate about acting. Our financial condition was not very good, earlier I used to work in a shoe showroom. Then I opened my own shoe store by adding money. During this time money started coming in well but I did not feel like working. One day suddenly I put a sale of 200 rupees per shoe in my store so that the whole stock gets empty and I can come to Mumbai with this money. Many relatives also used to taunt that what kind of husband and father I am, who is not able to see anyone in front of his selfishness. Although my wife never said anything, but she kept supporting me.
Victim of thugs in Mumbai
Reality came face to face after coming to Mumbai. I did not know anything, so many times I also became a victim of fraud. I used to give money to people and ask for work. The contractors used to take money from me and kept on postponing the issue of giving the project. Then someone told that I am being fooled. Here work is not done by money but by hard work. Well, in the meanwhile the money was about to run out, so I used to stay in Virar with two or three friends in a room of one thousand rupees. I used to travel three hours daily for auditions. The first project I got was Diya Aur Baati, in which I got 3000 for a day. After this, in the greed of earning money, I went on doing episodic shows on TV. I have reached here after making a good bank balance. I would definitely like to say that my wife had full support, when there was no money to spend in Mumbai, she used to send me her stridhan. She used to save money received from relatives and send it to me when needed.
Let me tell you, these days Sandeep Bhojak is going to be seen sharing the screen with Randeep Hooda in Rajkumar Santoshi’s next project Bad Boy. Apart from this, Sandeep has been a part of projects like Battle of Saragarhi, Hotel Mumbai, Ram-Rajya.
