When asked why he joined Al Ittihad, Benzema said, ‘I am a Muslim. And this country is also Muslim. Always wanted to live in a Muslim country. That’s why I came to Etihad.’
Benzema also said, ‘I am very excited to join the Etihad. Of course it’s a new challenge and a new life for me. I am looking forward to the start of practice.’
