The Tour de France It is the most important cycling event of the year. In the month of July, and more so this year 2022 in which the sports calendar lacks massive events in summer, all eyes will be on the French country. And, therefore, cyclists will be the most followed athletes on the planet.
In total there are 22 participating teams and each one has presented during these last days his ‘starting lineup’ with eight cyclists. All will try to cross the finish line first on the Champs-Élysées in Paris.
Squads also have substitute athletes, ready to take off in Copenhagen on July 1 if there are any setbacks. The most likely, given that the coronavirus pandemic is not over yet, is that someone will test positive for covid-19 at the last moment.
The favorites are clear, although it is not ruled out that some covered could give the surprise: Tadej Pogacarcurrent champion, is the one who starts with the most options. He is followed by Primoz Roglic, a clear contender for victory, and Jonas Vingegaard. Everyone expects the Danish Jumbo Visma rider to do well. Among the Spaniards, the greatest hope is placed on Enric Mas, who in 2020 signed a creditable fifth place.
