Tabassum started her film career as a child artist. He was known as Baby Tabassum. He was born in 1944. His father’s name was Ayodhya Nath Sachdev, who was a freedom fighter. His mother’s name was Asgari Begum. She was also a freedom fighter. Also she was a journalist and writer. Keeping in mind the religion of her mother, Tabassum’s father named her Tabassum. And keeping in mind the religion of his father, his mother named him Kiran Bala.

Debut as Baby Tabassum

Baby Tabassum started her career in 1947 with the film ‘Nargis’. After this he was seen in many films like Mera Suhaag, Manjhdhar, Badi Behen, Sargam, Chhoti Bhabhi and Didar. She played the childhood role of Meena Kumari in the film ‘Baiju Bawra’. Tabassum made a comeback after taking a break from films for a few years. Now she had grown up. In 1960, he was seen in the film ‘Mughal-e-Azam’.

The show ran on TV for years

After this his films Dharmaputra, Phir Wahi Dil Laya Hoon, Ganwar, Bachpan, Johnny Mera Naam, Gambler came. He was also seen in Amrita Singh’s famous film ‘Chamli Ki Shaadi’. He hosted the first talk show of Indian television ‘Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan’. This show ran for 21 years (from 1972 to 1993). Tabassum had interviewed many celebs on this show. It became very popular among the audience and it was also given a lot of love.

In 1985, he released his first film as a director, producer and writer. Its name was ‘Tum Par Hum Kurbaan’. In this film, he introduced Johnny Lever as a comedian on screen for the first time. He made a comeback on TV in 2006. He worked in the serial ‘Pyaar Ke Do Naam: Ek Radha, Ek Shyam’. Apart from this, he was also seen judging the show ‘Ladies Special’ in 2009.

Married to Arun Govil’s brother

Tabassum married Vijay Govil, elder brother of ‘Ramayana’ fame actor Arun Govil. They have a son named Hoshang Govil. Hoshang also tried his hand in the film industry. He was seen in the film ‘Tum Par Hum Kurbaan’. Apart from this, he also worked in the serial ‘Kartoot’ and ‘Ajeeb Dastaan ​​Hai Yeh’. In 2009, Hoshang’s daughter and Tabassum’s granddaughter Khushi made her debut with the film ‘Hum Phir Miley Na Miley’.
