The Weld County District Attorney’s Office announced on Tuesday that it has found 30-year-old Damaige Plascencia guilty of a horrific assault last week that could spend the rest of her life in jail.
THE WOMAN ATTACKED AFTER TAKING OUT OF THE SHOWER
The woman arrived at her apartment in Evans on the night of December 30, 2016, and went up to the second floor to shower when all the lights were off, the district attorney’s office said. The woman got out of the shower and walked into the bedroom, where Plascencia grabbed her from behind and covered her mouth with her hands and blankets.

According to prosecutors, the infuriated pervert raped her for about 10 minutes before fleeing. According to one affidavit, the woman’s daughter heard him say “shhh” before he noticed and fired the suspect. The woman and her daughter recognized the suspect by his voice. In the DNA match, Damaige Plascencia’s crime was revealed.

Prosecutors said he was arrested and charged in May 2017 after a DNA match arrived. The district attorney’s office said Plascencia was found guilty of sexual assault, kidnapping and theft and could be sentenced to 88 years to life in prison, with her sentence set for March 22, 2023.
