Gaby Agúndez points to a great return to Paris 2024

Although there are still two years to go before the competition, Gaby Agúndez is getting ready for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, where the Mexican diver is motivated.

In a virtual conference with the media, the medalist in Tokyo 2020 considers that she now has an individual medal in her sights.

“Tokyo 2020 left a good taste in my mouth also individually with fourth place, I felt very good and very motivated, it left me with a thorn that could be done better. Tokyo is over, now it’s Paris 2024.”

About arriving now with a medal in his showcase, he considers it an achievement and not a pressure.

“That would be a great responsibility, I worked my whole life for this commitment,” he said.

On the other hand, its recovery has reached 100 percent in recent months, so it hopes to be ready by 2023.

“The important thing was to be at 100, they were difficult days, I always stay active, it was difficult to stay in bed for two weeks without being able to move. Returning from an operation is not easy. The doctor told me ‘if you want to get to Paris in the best conditions you have to have surgery,’ the diver said in a videoconference.

Finally, he also spoke of the lack of support from the Mexican Federation in recent months.

“I dedicate myself to my own thing, to be prepared when they call me to compete. It’s up to me to train.”
