Mexican soccer lives a new scandal, after a former soccer player is denounced for domestic violence.
According to information from Reforma, Carlos Esquivel, former player of Los Diablos and former coach of Toluca Sub-16, was denounced by his partner.
The complaint was made on August 21, in the municipality of Metepec, after the events that occurred in a Sunday at the Residencial Portofino.

The report indicates that the woman called 911 to request the support of the authorities, but it is pointed out that Carlos Esquivel got into his car and fled, before the arrival of the elements of the municipal police.

The complaint for family violence was filed at the Prosecutor’s Office for Attention to Crimes Linked to Gender Violence, for the facts that were recorded in the folder TOL/CGT/VGT/107/233660/23/08
Carlos Esquivel, who was a three-time league champion with Toluca and a national team, was directing the choricero club in the under-16 category.
After the complaints, Toluca announced the departure of Carlos Esquivel as coach of the youth category, by “mutual agreement.”
“In relation to the information circulating in different media about the personal situation of Carlos Esquivel Silva, coach of the team that represents Deportivo Toluca Futbol Club in the International Basic Forces Tournament 2023, the determination has been made by mutual agreement, his separation from said position until the corresponding investigations are clarified, and/or specific information is obtained,” the statement read.
