Tragic news from Albania. Raphael Dwamena, who was a striker for the I raisedhas died at the age of 28 after collapsing in the field during the Egnatia – Partizani dispute. The Ghanaian fell to the grass after 24 minutes of play.
Although the ambulance entered the field a few seconds after the incident, medical assistance could not save his life. An hour and a half later, Egnatia confirmed the sad outcome.
Dwamena had already had several heart problems throughout his career. In 2017 he failed a medical examination at Brighton and in 2019, when he was at Zaragoza on loan from Levante, he had to undergo surgery due to the appearance of heart problems. In 2020 he had a new scare at Vejle that also forced him to leave the Danish club, which he joined after terminating with the granotas. He had now become one of the figures of Egnatia, with whom he won the Albanian Cup.
