The ministry said in a statement: “The commandos neutralized the terrorist Ferit Yüksel, codenamed Batman Serzan Mava, one of the close associates of the so-called Zap state officer of the terrorist organization PKK, in charge of the correspondence of the terrorist organization in the region, in the cave where he was hiding.”

Turkish Armed Forces elements, carrying out search and scanning activities in the Zap region in northern Iraq, detected the presence of terrorists in the cave on the hill at an altitude of 852. After the “surrender” calls were answered with fire, the terrorist was neutralized by the commandos in the cave where he was hiding.

It was determined that the terrorist was Ferit Yüksel, code-named Batman Serzan Mava, one of the close associates of the so-called Zap state officer of the terrorist organization PKK, code-named Siyabend, which was neutralized last year. It was stated that Yüksel’s terrorist organization was responsible for critical communications in the region. While the photo of the two terrorists in question was taken in a cave where they were hiding in the past years, security sources stated that both terrorists in the photo were neutralized.
