The European Commission and the Council of Europe announced that the European Union (EU) flags were lowered tomorrow due to the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, who died on 8 September.

In a statement made by the European Commission, it was stated that the EU flags were lowered at half-mast due to the Queen’s funeral held today, adding, “The EU flags were lowered at half-mast today due to the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Our thoughts are with those who mourn and remember her. together” was stated.
