Tensions are escalating again between Serbia and Kosovo. Seeing Kosovo as its own territory, Serbia’s decision to deploy army members on the border of this country is causing a crisis in the region.
Following this development, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke on the phone with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, as tensions rose in the region.
STATEMENT WAS MADE
According to the statement made by the Directorate of Communications, Serbian President Vucic and Kosovo Prime Minister Kurti conveyed their congratulations to President Erdoğan on his re-election as the Presidency.
During the meetings, where bilateral relations and regional issues were also discussed, President Erdoğan stated that the only way to establish lasting peace and stability in the region regarding the developments in the north of Kosovo is to advance in the dialogue process. President Erdoğan stated that as Turkey, they are ready to contribute their part in the dialogue process.
