Energoatom announced that the Southern Ukraine Nuclear Power Plant (SUNPP) area of ​​Ukraine was bombed by Russia and the missile fell 300 meters from the nuclear reactors.

In a written statement by Ukrainian energy company Energoatom, it was stated that the Russian army carried out a missile attack on the industrial area of ​​the South Ukraine Nuclear Power Plant, also known as the Pivdennoukrainsk Nuclear Power Plant in the Mykolaiv region. “A powerful explosion occurred just 300 meters from the SUNPP reactors. The shock wave damaged the plant’s buildings and more than 100 windows were broken. One of the hydroelectric units of the Oleksandrivska Hydroelectric Power Plant, which is part of the Southern Ukraine power complex, was shut down. Three high-voltage electricity line was also disabled.



Noting that no one of the power plant personnel was injured and all three SUNPP power units are currently operating normally, the statement said, “The nuclear terrorist acts carried out by the Russian army threatens the whole world. They must be stopped immediately to prevent a new disaster!” statements were included.



Zelenski made a statement on the bombing of the nuclear power plant on his social media account, “Mykolaiv region.
