On May 26 they met, in the port of the Real Club El Candadofifteen boats to dispute the 45th edition of the Mar de Alborán Regattaknown for its harsh and varied sailing conditions and which puts the best sailors to the test.
The start of the regatta was led by a strong easterly storm, which subsided during the day on Saturday, to give way to westerly winds. The sailors had to face each other during the regatta with gusts of 40 knots and waves from 3 to 4 meters.
Once the time compensation systems were applied, the race committee designated the winner of this 45th edition in the ORC1 category as the boat “Aviator” by Gabriel Medem; followed by Godspeed“, skippered by Johannes Schumacher from RCM Sotogrande, both from RCM Sotogrande; and third position for “Alborany” with Ángel Sánchez as patron of the Real Club El Candado.
