EBG Málaga once again organizes the III Málaga Basketball Legends Tournament, to remember the great figures who forged the passion of the sport of the basket in this city. The event will take place on May 11, 13 and 14 on the Exterior Courts of Los Guindos.
In this 2023, the memory will be very specially dedicated to Jose Maria Martin Urbanoone of those historical figures who began to throw the ball into a basket in Malaga and who later joined his life on the pitch as a coach, commentator, scout and, ultimately, a man who was passionate about basketball.
This year, the great preminibasket event of the Malaga grassroots basketball, It also coincides with the Final Four in the city of the Champions Basketball League, an opportunity to share a great event and share the experience. Hence, the calendar of the III EBG Málaga Legends Tournament leaves Friday free to enjoy the competition at the Carpena.
The Legends Tournament wants to be as faithful to its philosophy, and be present in the most identifying thing of a team and a basketball player, the jersey. That is why Caja de Ronda and Mayoral dress the participating teams, led by Austral, to remember those teams that forged the passion for basketball with Málaga decades ago.
But the true axis of the tournament will once again be the game, training and fun, mainly in the preminibasket category, so that men’s, women’s and mixed teams will compete with more than 250 players all the courts of Los Guindos in these days to continue learning about basketballplaying matches to gain experience and serving as a liaison point for families and friends.
Another of the traditions of the EBG Málaga Legends Tournament is the baptism of tracks with the names of historical figures and pioneers of Málaga basketball.
