By order of the Executive Power, Monday, September 19, 2022 is declared non-working due to the effects of the possible passage of Hurricane Fiona through the National territory.

Hours earlier, the COE instructed civil protection agencies to carry out “mandatory” evacuations in the demarcations included in the red and yellow alerts, this includes the National District and 21 provinces.

“We also ask the population to access (the evacuations) without any hesitation. No matter Fiona’s trajectory, the COE asks the population not to be careless and to be aware of the instructions of the National Meteorology Office and those of this organization,” said the director of the COE, Juan Manuel Méndez.

Through its Twitter account, the Ministry of Labor specified that it instructs to safeguard the lives of all workers and employers in the Dominican Republic, taking the necessary measures to protect the goods used in national production.
