The Indian Wells Masters tennis tournament starts next week. Novak Djokovic, the number one star of the tennis world, took himself away at the end of the beginning. This Serbian tennis player is not playing this season mainly due to the ban on entering the United States.
Djokovic will not be able to enter the United States because he has not received the Covid-19 vaccine. However, it is said that he has the opportunity to enter with the special permission of the US government.
The Indian Wells ATP 1000 Masters tournament starts next week in California. The traditional Masters tournament will be held in Miami soon after. Djokovic will not play in Miami if the US government does not give permission.
As of now, international tourists are not allowed to enter the United States without the vaccine. The Transportation Security Administration recently indicated that there is no chance of a change in this directive until at least mid-April.
Meanwhile, on Friday, the US Tennis Association and the US Open organizing committee called for Djokovic to be allowed to enter the United States.
