Dakar Rally champions will race in Mexico

The two-time champion team Dakar, Nasser Al-Attiyah and Mathieu Baumeldriver and co-driver respectively, is preparing to compete in the third round of the 2023 World Rally-Raid Championship to be held in Mexico, on Sonora Rally.

The five-stage race in the state of Sonora is decisive in the fight for the title of the W2RC 2023The team of TGR leads the constructors’ championship with a 41-point advantage over the second-largest manufacturer.

The race will take place from April 23 to 28, and competitors will have to brave unfamiliar terrain, including rocky mountains, beaches, open deserts, and plenty of mudslides. The competition will begin and end near the city of Hermosillo, before moving west towards the finish line in San Luis Rio Colorado.

Although the Sonora Rally It has been held since 2015, this is the first time it has been presented as part of the international circuit, which means that many of the competitors will face off against unfamiliar terrain and the organizers have stressed that this year’s race will include huge dunes as well as a variety of off-road challenges.
