Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has taken big action against star all-rounder Chamika Karunaratne. The 26-year-old Chamika Karunaratne was suspended for one year from all forms of cricket by the board for breaching players’ contract rules during the T20 World Cup. The executive committee of the SLC has pronounced this punishment after a disciplinary inquiry conducted by a three-member panel.

In its statement, the SLC said, “Considering the seriousness of Chamika Karunaratne’s breaches, the inquiry committee recommended to the SLC executive committee that the player be sternly warned not to do so in future.” Along with this, such punishment should be given which does not have much effect on his cricket career.

Whereas in T20 International, Karunaratne has 257 runs at an average of 15.11. Chamika Karunaratne has taken 16 wickets in ODIs and 21 wickets in T20 Internationals for Sri Lanka.
