Ceasefire declared between Palestine and Israel

After the clashes between Palestine and Israel that started last week, it was announced that a ceasefire was declared and that the ceasefire would begin this evening. It was stated that a total of 33 Palestinians and 2 Israelis lost their lives during the clashes.

Tor Wennesland, Special Coordinator of the United Nations (UN) Middle East Peace Process, made a statement last night and said, “I welcome the ceasefire announced in Gaza and Israel.” In his statement, Special Coordinator Wennesland emphasized that he appreciated Egypt for its efforts in the ceasefire and invited the parties to abide by the ceasefire.

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the statements of Israel’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir yesterday and stated that it escalated the conflict. The Palestinian Ministry of Health, on the other hand, emphasized that 33 people, including 6 children, were killed and 190 people were injured in the airstrikes carried out by Israel in the occupied Gaza. The Israeli side noted that two people lost their lives.
