Carlos Vela’s LAFC is a finalist in the Concachampions

LAFC will have a new opportunity to be crowned internationally, after beating Philadelphia Union 3-0 (4-1 global) in the second leg semifinal of the Concacaf Champions League.

The current MLS champion forcefully took advantage of the locality and the pressure from Philadelphia to get the ticket to the next round in search of the title.

LAFC started on the right foot with Timothy Tillman’s score, at minute 13, after taking advantage of a series of rebounds in the area and ended up pushing the ball.

With this advantage, Philadelphia got into disorder and Carlos Vela’s team took the opportunity to control the ball and maintain the advantage, although there were few opportunities in the rival area.

For his part, Carlos Vela was one of the most participatory of the match, and took countless fouls from the Philadelphia defense in both halves.

The slope got higher for the Union, after Olivier Mbaizo was sent off from the match at minute 58. With this situation, LAFC went with everything in search of ending the series and succeeded in the last moments.

In the first instance, and with an assist from Carlos Vela, Kwadwo Opoku pushed the ball in the 82nd minute, before the explosion of the fans that gathered at the Banc of California Stadium.

The match ended with goal scorer Denis Bouanga, at minute 90, which caused the referee to give no time for more.

Now, LAFC awaits its rival that will come out of the key between Tigres and León, which will be played tomorrow at the Nou Camp. The final will take place on May 30 and June 4.
