Businessman Juan Bautista Vicini Lluberes will donate an aid of RD$50 million for the reconstruction of homes of the most needy people in communities that are in vulnerable conditions, after the passage of Hurricane Fiona through the Dominican Republic.

Vicini Lluberes indicated that the assistance will be provided through the company Ferretería Ochoa, of which he is a member of the Board of Directors, and that the contributions will be construction materials that allow the reconstruction or rehabilitation of homes that are in a vulnerable condition due to the phenomenon. .


These materials will go to the housing reconstruction program announced by the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, as well as to the social organizations of those communities that come to the assistance of the victims.

The businessman considered that at times like these, solidarity should be imposed, and he explained that through this aid, materials such as zinc sheets for roofs, blocks, steel rods, cement, among others, will be provided, since Ferretería Ochoa has with the full range of necessary construction materials.

“For years we have had a commitment to the country and more so in special moments like this. Today, more than ever, it is required that all of society work together to overcome the challenges that lie ahead”, said Vicini Lluberes.


He added that the aid will go mainly to the reconstruction of houses in the most affected provinces such as La Altagracia, Hato Mayor, El Seibo and Samaná and will be channeled through churches and civil society foundations to, through these, assist the State institutions that are in charge of reconstruction works.
