Brent oil falls 1.70% to US$84.85

The price of a barrel of Brent oil for delivery in June ended today in the London futures market at $84.85, 1.70% less than at the end of the previous session.

The North Sea crude oil, a reference in Europe, ended the day in the International Exchange Futures with a decrease of 1.47 dollars compared to the last negotiation, when it closed at 86.32 dollars.

The strength of the US dollar against other currencies contributed to the drop in the price of the European barrel during the session, according to analysts.

The expectation of new interest rate hikes by the Federal Reserve and the fear of a slowdown in the economic recovery also weighed down the negotiations on the London futures market.
