Brazil lost to Colombia after Uruguay

Brazil suffered their second consecutive defeat in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Brazil lost 2-1 to Colombia today after losing 2-0 to Uruguay in Uruguay.

Brazil and Colombia face each other in the 2026 World Cup qualifying match at Estadio Metropolitan Roberto Melendez in Colombia on Friday (November 17) at 6 am Bangladesh time. It was the fifth match for both the teams.

Brazil scored a goal four minutes into the match at the Roberto Melandez Metropolitan Stadium. Forward Gabriel Martinelli put the visiting team ahead after receiving the ball from Vinicius Junior’s assist and hitting the net with his right foot.

Brazil dominated the ball throughout the match, but the host team attacked one after the other. Alison Baker, who came on for regular goalkeeper Ederson, repeatedly showed his Munciana.

After the break, however, the five-time world champions could not hold on to their lead. Luis Dias scored a header in the 75th minute from Yasser Aspriller’s cross.

Four minutes later, Dias gave Colombia a chance to celebrate again. Liverpool’s left winger hit the target again with teammate James Rodriguez’s extended ball. Colombia’s victory was assured by his goal.

Seleção has gone to fifth in the points table with two consecutive losses. Their points are 7 in 5 matches. Colombia is third in the table with 9 points in the same match.
