Banreservas receives anti-bribery management certification

He Reserve Bank received the ISO-37001 certification of Anti-bribery Management Systema standard that accredits it for complying with international standards to prevent, detect, and mitigate the risk of bribery and corruption.

When formalizing the delivery, the TUV NORD Certifying Body, accredited by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO, for its acronym in English), stated that it determined that Banreservas established and implemented processes, procedures and objective policies against bribery and corruption.

The general administrator of the financial entity, Samuel Pereyra, explained: “This certification makes our entity’s commitment to ethical values ​​tangible and positions us as one of the first certified financial institutions in the region.”

Pereyra considers that this certification is the result of the incessant work of the last two years and nine months, with the clear objective of strengthening the ethical commitment of Banco de Reservas de la Dominican Republic to its collaborators, interested parties and the community in general.

He said that Banco de Reservas, in its constant commitment to improvement and improvement, has worked through its Management of

Anti-Corruption and Bribery Ethics Compliance Division work hard to obtain the ISO 37001 certification.

“We are proud to have established in our Bank the fundamental foundations so that these fundamental values ​​are considered in our institution by putting into operation an Ethical Compliance and Anti-Corruption System aligned with the best international practices,” he concluded.

Heiromy Castro, General Director of Compliance, specified that it all began with the “Strengthening and Development of a Corporate Ethical Culture” project, of the bank and its subsidiaries, which was based on international practices in the field of Ethical Compliance Culture and the requirements of the International Standard ISO 37001.

“This certification gives us the privilege of positioning ourselves as the first financial institution to obtain it in the Dominican Republic, and one of the first in Central and Latin America, according to information issued by the International Certification Organization (ISO)”, pondered.

The certification process with the selection of the certifying firm of international prestige (TUV NORD), lasted two years and concluded that the Reserve Bank of the Dominican Republic complies with the scope of the requirements requested by the standard.

The formal act took place at the Intercontinental Hotel and was attended by clients, representatives of regulatory entities and executives from Banreservas and its subsidiaries.
