Women’s franchise football Bangladesh Women’s Super League (WSL) is taking place for the first time in the country. Its trophy and match ball were unveiled in a grand ceremony at a five-star hotel in the capital on Tuesday. The entertainment partner of this league is TikTok, the top short video creation platform worldwide. This football league is starting from this May. TikTok is going to be the official partner of the country’s first women’s franchise football league in collaboration with Bangladesh Football Federation and K Sports.
South Asia’s first women’s franchise football league ‘Women’s Super League’ will be held in Dhaka and Sylhet. Four franchises will participate in this league, and each franchise will have 18 players, including 13 domestic and five foreign players.

The ball is specially made for the league. Which is named ‘Astra’. It is sculpted into a ball shape in keeping with the ancient art of weapon making. That is why it is named weapon. The ball is made in India and approved by FIFA. The name of the ball is also printed in Bengali. And the 22 inch trophy for the tournament is made from England. The body is 18 carat gold with copper and silver plates.
The league is scheduled to be held from May 22 to June 5 with four teams.
