Bangladesh girls lost to Iran

Bangladesh girls had no choice but to win their last match in the first round of FC U-20 Asian Cup qualifiers. But the hosts could not overcome Iran. The representatives of the red and green went out after losing 1-0 to Iran at the Bir Shresh Shahid Sepahi Mustafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur.

As a result of this loss, the Bangladesh U-20 women’s team remained at number two in the points table. They collected 3 points in 2 matches. Meanwhile, Iranian girls are at the top of the table with maximum 6 points in equal matches. Turkmenistan are at the bottom with no more points.

Bangladesh went down to win the match held at home ground. The team also got several chances to score in the first half. But did not get the desired goal. Akalima Khatun missed a simple sujoz in the first minute. And in the 32nd minute, Irene’s shot went wide. The first half ended goalless.

In the second half of the game, the hosts slackened off a lot. On the other hand, Iran, who was addicted to goals, got the desired goal in the 85th minute of the match. Negin scored the only goal that decided the victory of the match. Iran secured the victory by holding the lead for the rest of the time.
