Bale joined Madrid for Ronaldo

Former Real Madrid star Gareth Bale says he joined Los Blancos because of Cristiano Ronaldo. Bale also admitted that he never had any kind of conflict with anyone during his Madrid career.

The Ronaldo-Bale duo have won four Champions League titles for Madrid. Through this, Madrid made a special place for themselves in Europe’s highest club competition.

In a recent interview, Bale said it was difficult to be around Ronaldo after the match. Especially if he could not score in that match, even if the team won, Ronaldo could not keep his mood. The Welshman, however, dismissed any dispute with Ronaldo. Although Bale has now retired from all forms of football, Ronaldo plays for Al Nasre in the Saudi professional league.

In an interview given to The Times, Bale said, ‘I have never had a problem with Ronaldo or anyone else at Real Madrid for a single day. I don’t think I ever disagreed with anyone on anything. Even when the team was having a tough time, we had a good time in the dressing room. I really enjoyed the rest of my time in Madrid, apart from a bit of a tough time on the pitch. I have no regrets. I have taken the right decision at the right time.’

Bale also said, ‘The biggest reason behind joining Madrid was Cristiano and Benzema. Along with them, it was a privilege to play in the same club with players like Modric, Alonso and later Toni Kroos. I never wanted to be Galactico, just play and then disappear into the darkness.’

Bale, 33, has given up football to focus on his lifelong love of golf. Bell recently played in the BMW PGA Championship Celebrity Pro-Am line-up. It was the first step in his debut as a professional golfer.
