Australia defeated India in the final of the Test Championship

Visiting Australia beat hosts India by a huge margin of 9 wickets in the third Test of the four-match series held in Indore. And with this victory, Azira confirmed the final of the World Test Championship. The last test between the two teams will start on March 9.

However, even if India loses this Test, India still has a chance to play in the final of the Test Championship.

Australia set the stage for victory at the end of the second day of the match after getting a target of only 76 runs to win. Chasing 7 runs on the third day, Australia lost their wicket on the second ball of the innings. Usman Khawaja was dismissed empty-handed by Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.

Another opener, Travis Head and No. 3 Marnus Labuschein, resisted the Indian bowlers without taking into account the initial shock. They made a pair of unbroken 78 runs off 111 balls for the second wicket. In 18.5 overs, Australia’s victory was confirmed by the Head-Labuchen duo.

Head remained unbeaten on 49 off 53 balls with 6 fours and 1 six. Labuschenne scored an unbeaten 28 off 58 balls with 6 fours. India’s Ashwin took 1 wicket for 44 runs.

Leading by 2-1, the two teams will play the fourth and final Test of the series in Ahmedabad on March 9. India will be Australia’s partner in the final of the championship if they win the last test.
