Aspas, 300 First Division matches with Celta

Vigo, Apr 26 (EFE).- The Spanish international Iago Aspas reached his 300th match in the First Division tonight with the Celta de Vigo shirt with his title in the match between his team and Elche in Balaídos.

The Galician striker, a four-time winner of the Zarra Trophy, has added another 16 games in the top flight with Sevilla, the only Spanish team he played for other than Celta.

His debut in LaLiga took place in August 2012 against Málaga, in the game that marked Celta’s return to the First Division after a long period in the silver category. That season he played 34 games and scored 12 goals, which opened the doors of the Premier League for him after being signed by Liverpool.

However, his stage in England barely lasted a year. Aspas returned to the Spanish league in the summer of 2014 to join Sevilla, with whom he played 16 games in the domestic competition and won the Europa League title.

With no minutes at Sánchez Pizjuán, the striker from Moaña decided to return to Celta two years after his departure.
