Argentina’s World Cup qualifiers started with Messi’s magic win

Argentina opened their World Cup qualifiers with a 1-0 win over Ecuador at the Mas Monumental Stadium in Buenos Aires. In the 77th minute, Lionel Messi scored a free kick from outside the D box.

Ecuador was playing a very defensive football from the beginning of this day. As a result, the current world champions did not score a goal until 77 minutes. However, despite not scoring, the hosts were in control from the first minute of the match. From possession of the ball to attack – they were ahead in all aspects. However, Ecuador’s defensive game Messi-Martinez went to the break without a goal.

Argentina increased the offensive edge in the second half. The result is in the 78th minute of the match. Lautaro Martinez is fouled just outside the box by Ecuador’s Moises Caísdo. The referee signaled a free kick and the left-footed wizard Messi took advantage of that opportunity. Messi’s curling free kick from about 20 yards flew past the eyes of Ecuador goalkeeper Ernan Galindez and into the net near the right post. With this goal, Argentina captain Messi scored in eight consecutive international matches.

The hosts played attacking football for the rest of the match. However, as no more goals were seen, Argentina left the field with a 1-0 victory. Argentina’s next match in the World Cup qualifiers will be held against Bolivia at 2 pm Bangladesh time on Tuesday.
