arajet transported more than 80,000 passengers in the first quarter of 2023, according to the aviation report published by the Civil Aviation Board which reviews the transport figures in the Dominican Republic during January, February and March of this year.
This consolidates Arajet as the Dominican airline that most passengers transports to and from the country, and entered the select list of the 12 leading international airlines in passenger movement.
Said report indicates that it is followed by SkyHigh with more than 20,000 passengers and Air Century with almost 12,000.
“We are already part of a select list of leading airlines in passenger transport to and from the Dominican Republic, which reflects the preference and confidence that Dominicans and foreign have put into Arajet, and the commitment and dedication of our team” said Víctor Pacheco Méndez, founder of Arajet. “We are going to continue strengthening our offer and service, offering new routes to South America, United States and Canadawhich will allow us to close the year with more than 300,000 passengers transported and thus enter the top 10 of the airlines that transport the most passengers in the Dominican Republic.”
Arajet operates flights to 17 destinations in 11 countries in North, Central, South America and the Caribbean, and since it entered the market on September 15, 2022, it has transported almost 180,000 passengers on its entire route network. “These months ahead are crucial for the development of our operation, and we have the support of some of the most important experts in the world of aviation, supporting our accelerated growth,” said Pacheco.
Arajet expects to increase its fleet from five to 10 new Boeing 737MAX8 aircraft in the coming months, as well as the opening of new routes, which will enable the entry of more tourists to the Dominican Republic.
