Apple has had a very busy start to the year, and it seems that during March they will not step on the brakes. According to Mark Gurmanjournalist from Bloomberg and one of the most reliable sources when it comes to future apple products, the company will present a new color for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus during this week.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard these rumours. Just a few days ago, a publication on Weibo, the Chinese social network, announced that the iPhone 14 will be available in yellow. However, because the person responsible for the information did not have a previous history of leaks, few paid attention to it.
It is worth mentioning, however, that this time the Pro variant would run out of news. The yellow color would only be introduced for the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus.
Mark Gurman is not the only one validating the information. MacRumors notes that, according to sources close to Apple’s public relations team, the company will hold a private event on 7 of March with members of the press to make the official announcement. Beware, the above information is not 100% confirmed, so it will be better to take it with a grain of salt. In any case, in a matter of hours the doubts will be resolved.
An important point to note is that, in the past, Apple has already taken advantage of the mid-cycle of an iPhone generation to launch a new color. We must remember that, during March 2022, they presented the iPhone 13 Pro in alpine green, and the iPhone 13 in green. A year earlier, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini embraced the color purple.
This strategy obviously allows them to boost terminal sales again. It is well known that the iPhone, in the last fiscal quarter, had quite disappointing numbers. As explained by Apple, the low sales of the smartphone were caused by an environment full of challenges. For example, they again faced various problems in the Asian production chain.

Therefore, offering the iPhone 14 in yellow could generate interest among those people who, despite being willing to renew their terminal, are in no hurry to do so when a generation has just debuted on the market. It should not be forgotten that the iPhone 14 family has already been with us for half a year, so enough time has passed for consumers to plan their purchase.
Likewise, it is curious that in the midst of rumors about a new color for the iPhone 14, there is so much speculation about the successor generation. There is talk that the iPhone 15 will boast a totally renewed designembracing those rounded corners that we saw a few years ago on the iPhone 5c.
However, perhaps the characteristic that generates the most morbidity is the arrival, at last, of the USB-C connector to the whole range. Apple will have to align itself with European regulations to avoid exemplary sanctions, and that means saying goodbye once and for all to the Lightning port. If those led by Tim Cook follow the calendar of previous years, the iPhone 15 will be presented sometime in September.
