Apple tests a new Mac mini with M3 chip, according to Bloomberg

Manzana is currently testing a new Mac mini computer with the company’s new self-developed chip, M3, according to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman.

A Mac mini is a compact desktop computer currently running on the M2 platforms -with 8-core CPU and 10-core GPUamong other specifications- and M2 Pro, with CPUs of up to 12 cores and GPUs of up to 19 cores.

The company unveiled the new versions of its Mac computers within the framework of the World Developers Conference (WWDC 2023), which took place last June, when it announced the new MacBook air with the M2 chip or the Mac Studio also with M2 Ultra.

So, no reference was made to what would be the new Mac mini, which the brand is currently testing with the new platform it is developing, M3, as it has advanced. mark gurman in his latest newsletter ‘Power On’.

A Bloomberg journalist has commented that this compact computer tested by Cupertino is equipped with eight CPU cores -four of them for efficiency and the other four for performance-, 10 cores dedicated to graphics processing and 24 GB of memory.

This device, whose code name is Mac15,12, runs the version of macOS Sonoma 14.1, would arrive in 2024 and would join the rest of the latest Apple releases, among which are the computers that will arrive in the fall.
