The Magic Keyboard for the iPad Pro and iPad Air could get its biggest update in years. This is suggested by Mark Gurman of Bloombergwho recently claimed that the company was working on updating this accessory to make the iPad “look even more like a laptop”. Now, the journalist has revealed in his latest newsletter some of the main news that will come to this device.
Gurman, in particular, points out that the next Magic Keyboard for the iPad will have an aluminum top case; something that will offer a more premium feel and greater resistance. In fact, the journalist points out that current models tend to bend and break over time, and that this new material could solve this problem.
The keyboard part, yes, will maintain the same finish as the current Magic Keyboard, although Trackpad is expected to be bigger. This would allow for much smoother browsing, similar to what we get with the MacBook. However, there are no details on whether Apple will modify the software to support new gestures or improve the experience of using the mouse with the iPad.
what apple will not change is the number of ports. The Magic Keyboard has a USB-C connector on one side for file transfer. Taking into account that the iPad has another port on its side, users will be able to use a total of two connectors simultaneously.
The Magic Keyboard could arrive next year with a renewed iPad Pro
In parallel to the Magic Keyboard, in a past edition of his weekly newsletter, Gurman revealed that Apple was also working on one of the biggest updates to the iPad Pro. The Cupertino company, specifically, could announce two new ones next year. 11-inch and 13-inch models with OLED screens. This would put an end to the LCD technology of the most compact model, and to the mini-LED of the larger version.
The OLED screens on the iPad Pro, in addition, would bring several advantages. On the one hand, a longer battery life on devices, because the blacks that the OLED panels reproduce are, in reality, off pixels. It would also improve the brightness, contrast and colors of the screen.
The 2024 iPad Pro, on the other hand, would arrive with the M3 chipprocessor that could be announced at the end of this 2023. Unfortunately, there is no specific release date for the Magic Keyboard and the iPad Pro.
