Antonio Herrera ends his relationship with Unicaja Basketball once the EBA League season is over. The Sevillian coach closes his second stage at the club after four seasons.
The coach, who served as first team assistant coach for 5 seasons (2013-2018), returned to the entity as technical director of the youth academy and coach of the junior men’s team.
With a long career in the different categories of national basketball, including the Endesa League where he was assistant by Paco García at CB Valladolid and of Joan Plaza, at Real Madrid and at Unicaja. After his time in Malaga, he was also head coach at Leyma Basquet Coruña of LEB Oro. After directing Sáenz Horeca Araberri of LEB Oro as well, in 2019 Herrera took on an exciting youth project in Malaga.
Last season he got the classification to the Promotion Phase to the LEB Plata in a great campaign in the EBA League. During this time he has contributed to the formation of many of the bastions of the Unicaja academy on a technical, tactical and personal level.
