Alejandra Valencia gets the silver medal in the Archery World Cup

Mexico continues to reap medals in the Archery World Cup, thanks to the performance of Olympic athlete Alejandra Valencia, who won the silver medal in the resource arch specialty.

In the great final of the discipline in the World Cup held in Berlin, Germany, Ale Valencia’s experience was not enough to overcome the 25-year-old Czech Marie Horackova, who won the match 6-0.

The loss wasn’t entirely bitter for Valencia though, as she took her first senior individual medal on the world stage.

In addition, he already has the ticket for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

“I feel very good, the truth is I feel good and happy,” he said. “I didn’t know this was something that had never been done before and that makes me even happier.”

“More than anything I focused, I tried and I think I managed to maintain my technique throughout the arrows and what I had to do, and it was not so much who I was against but doing it well regardless of who it was.”

For her part, Horackova won the first gold medal for the Czech Republic, in a contest that was historic, as there was no South Korean representative on the podium, after the bronze obtained by Nada Satsuki.

This is the third medal for Mexico after the silver signed by Andrea Becerra and by the pair of Daphne Quintero and Ana Sofia hernandez who collected silver after falling against the Indian side.
