Albert Luque: “Málaga CF’s natural place should be the First Division”

The situation of Malaga CF worries all the figures that make up national football. One of the historical figures of this country is 10 points away from salvation in the Second Division -when there are only 36 left at stake- and the only breath of fresh air -with trouble involved- for a constantly punished fans is the arrival of the national team Spanish next March 25. A very special match for Albert Luquenew director of the Spanish team and ex-blanquiazul, who analyzes in The opinion of Malaga the situation of what was his team.

“It’s a shame that the club is like this. Málaga is one of the powers of the country and the team should be at the top. Málaga CF’s natural site should be First division and fighting to enter Europe because of the potential that the club can have”, explains the Catalan. However, it is clear who is the big culprit: Al-Thani, whose management “has been a disaster”, to which he adds: “Let the club take a person manager who really loves the club and the city, and will take Málaga CF back to those years of glory”.

He still has a relationship with some of the members of the entity and, although his focus is on the national team, he remains attentive to the results of Málaga CF. He describes the 0-1 loss against Racing as “a setback” and almost unfair because “they didn’t deserve the defeat”, just like against Granada where they lost the game in the 90th minute.

However, Albert Luque is aware of the situation, although he wants to trust in a miracle because the consequences would be very harsh: “A series of things are happening that are crushing the team, they are sinking their morale, but I I would say that there is still life and capacity to be saved. The important thing is to save the year. May the fans and La Rosaleda support the team. Losing the category would be a very strong stick and they have to fight to stay in the Second Division”.

Spanish selection

Now the ex-soccer player opens the position of director of the national team, “a spectacular challenge, very nice and a very big responsibility.” After the renewal after the World Cup in the RFEF, he starts a new stage and he does it on the Costa del Sol.”On the 25th we have the first qualifying match for the Eurocup in Malaga, a special match for me. A field in which everything is already sold, absolutely full. So waiting for the players to start this new era under the orders of Luis de la Fuente. I think things are going to go well and we are going to excite the fans again”.

Moreover, the premiere could not have a better accompaniment. Despite the infinite problems to buy tickets, the dedication of the Malaga fans has been absolute, something that Albert Luque has already experienced and that he hopes will boost the national team: “As a Málaga CF player I have been able to experience afternoons and nights with La Rosaleda full. In fact, it misses. These are things that are never forgotten. Now with the national team they are going to take us on the wings.”
